Well, it’s Day 9 in the Ultimate Blog Challenge and I’ve already missed a day.
I knew the weekends would be the toughest for me to keep going and sure enough, I missed Saturday. Not only is it tough to keep up with posting to your blog on a regular basis, but it’s tough to keep your blog fresh with good quality content.
Here are a few of my secrets that help keep my blog going and hopefully keep you coming back for more!
- Share tips to a specific topic that you have knowledge in (sort of like what I’m doing here)
- Record a fun video and embed it on your blog with some commentary
- Produce an audio recording that your viewers can download to their iPod
- Invite a guest blogger to share their expertise on your blog
- Interview an expert in a topic that is relevant to your business
- Re-purpose some of your online articles or ezine articles into small blog posts
- Develop a series of “how-tos” and post one each day for seven days
- Find other blogs that are in your industry and review them
- Do product reviews
- Do a “just for fun” post. This can have absolutely nothing to do with your industry, but just for fun!
And there are many more ways to keep your blog content fresh and engaging to your visitors. What are some of the ways you keep your blog fresh?
Oh, and so I can get caught up in my blog challenge, I’ll be posting an extra one this week. I hate being behind and not keeping up with the pack!

Of course, I love your idea of a “Just for Fun” post. How fun is that. Thanks so much for the tips and your expertise.
Thanks for the tips, Terri! We all run dry from time to time and can use fresh ideas to spice up our blog posts.
As always, fantastic ideas. I usually sit quietly and listen for what I’m sensing people might appreciate reading about, or I think about what’s going on with my clients, or I think about what’s going on with me and write about that. In other words, I look around the garden of my life and write about what’s happening in the Garden.

I just love your analogies!!
Great post and good to see you participating in the challenge. I am one post behind myself!
Thanks Jeannie! It keeps us on our toes, for sure!!
Thanks for the tips!
One thing I do – like I’m doing right now – is turn my ‘thinking’ that I’m doing on certain client projects into reflective writing; and use these as a series of posts. I just began a series on Trust as that is what I’m working on with a large client. These posts are not only an outcome of what I’m working on in the project, the writing for the blog is helping me process what is next in the project. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing your blogging tip Jeff!
As always Terri, loads of great advice. I am in awe that you are taking the blogging challenge. Good luck.
Thanks Kristina! The word “challenge” couldn’t ring truer for me!! LOL
Great ideas for keeping your blog up and running. Thanks, Terri!

I share my favorite quotes and write a little bit about the quote; then I just share an action challenge on that topic and voila, my blog post is done. I’ve also heard of taking pieces of your ezine and sharing them as a blog. Or a real life story that serves as a metaphor that can make a point about your area of expertise. I have my horses help me talk about tips for human living from the perspective of the horse. Seems like you can just take any idea and turn it on its head for a blog post! Keep up the good work, Terri. I always look forward to the information you share!
Thanks Linda for sharing your ideas. And I LOVE when your horses talk to us! That’s a great approach.
