Honestly, I’m not sure. My first thought would be that maybe they would like to connect with you and by “poking” you that would start a subtle conversation.

My second thought is that they truly don’t understand how to use, or why to use the “Poke” feature and they are just playing around with it.

Either way, you don’t have to Poke them back or accept a friend request from them, should you receive one.

Actually, I have gotten a couple of “pokes” from friends of friends–people whom I don’t know. What’s THAT about?
